Earl Louis Roffman, age 79, died Friday, December 26, 1986 at the Good Samaritan Center in Waukon, Iowa. Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 29, 1986 at Forest Mills United Methodist Church with Verdon Swenson officiating. Burial was in Smithfield Cemetery with Martin Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Jim and Mark Boland, Joe and Tim Denner, Warren Barr, and John May.

A lifetime area resident, he was born January 17, 1907 in Franklin Township, Allamakee County, Iowa to Frank and Lucy (Siegrist) Roffman. He attended Evergreen School in Franklin Township. He married Florence Ewing on November 24, 1926 in Waukon, Iowa. He was a carpenter, farmer, and home builder. He was a member of the Forest Mill United Methodist Church and Farm Bureau.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold Roffman, and Otto Roffman; a grandchild, Bruce Denner, and a great-great grandchild Amanda Berg.

Survivors include his wife, Florence; a daughter, Mrs. James (Betty) Denner of New Hampton, Iowa; 2 sons, Eldo Roffman and Terry Roffman, both of Waukon, Iowa; 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; and a sister Mrs. Mabel Helgerson of Waukon, Iowa.
