Peter A. Rouster, age 89, of New Albin, Iowa died Sunday, September 1,1985 in Caledonia Community Hospital, Caledonia, Minnesota. Services were held Tuesday, September 3, at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, New Albin, Iowa. The Rev. Robert Rahe officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. Burke-Thornburg Funeral Home, Lansing, Iowa was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Dave Darling, Fred Wiemerslage, James Schellsmidt, Craig Wiemerslage, Gary Schutz, and Kerry Darling.

Mr. Rouster was born May 24, 1896 in Iowa Township, Allamakee County, Iowa to Theodore and Catherine (Boltz) Rouster. He was a farmer until his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Rosemary Freilinger, a son and a great-grandson.

Survivors are two sons, Cecil Rouster of New Albin, Iowa and Irvin Rouster of Caledonia, Minnesota; 4 daughters, Viola Wiemerslage of New Albin, Iowa, Philomena Schutz, and Evangeline Schellsmidt of Caledonia, Minnesota and Helen Gaare of Mabel, Minnesota; 26 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Elizabeth Lamb of LaCrosse, Wisconsin.
