Contributor: Connie Ellis (Not related)Funeral services for Mindert L. Nagel of Waukon, Iowa were held Wednesday afternoon, September 11 at Bethlehem Presbyterian Church. The Rev. James Elvig conducted the 1:30 p.m. services. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were James Meier, Gary Klein, Ralph Brandt, Leo Klocke, Ben Fiet, and Milo Klocke. Martin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Nagel, age 70, died Monday September 9, 1985 at the Good Samaritan Center in Waukon, Iowa. He was a mechanic and painter. He was born in Waukon, Iowa on January 11, 1915, the son of August and Minnie (Adams) Nagel. He attended Waukon schools and was a member of Bethlehem Presbyterian Church. His first wife, Helma Johnson, died in 1945. He later married Mary Foley.
He was preceded in death by a son Raymond Nagel, in addition to his parents and first wife.
He is survived by a son, Richard Nagel of Knobnester, Missouri, a daughter Donna Nagel of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; 8 grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Mrs. Alma Klein and Mrs. Lydia Meier, both of Waukon, Iowa.
