Funeral services for David D. Knopf of Decorah, Iowa were held Friday, July 22 at 10:30 a.m. at Sensor-French Funeral Home in Decorah. The Rev. John Paisley conducted the service. Burial was at the Lutheran Church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Larry Vine, Jim Anderson, Daren Henry, Robert Thorsten, Daniel Henry, and Joy Dansdill.

David died at the age of 74 at the Winneshiek County Memorial Hospital, Tuesday, July 19, 1988. David was born August 27, 1913 in Allamakee County, the son of David and Emma (Greiser) Knopf. He attended rural schools in Allamakee County. On November 9, 1936 he married the former Mildred Kallevang. He was a member of the Catholic Church. David was a retired construction worker.

Survivors include his wife Mildred; 2 children, Norma Jane Smith of Walcott, Iowa and Karen Henry of Decorah, Iowa; 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; 1 brother Walter Knopf of Newton, Kansas and a sister Elsie Breitsprecher of Waukon, Iowa.
