News was received Tuesday of the death of Mrs. George Watkins, age 77, who passed away on December 21, 1948 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Earl Koontz at Grand Rapids, Michigan where she was spending the winter. Mrs. Watkins had been in ill health for a number of years due to a complication of diseases.

As Agnes E. Mills she was born in Waukon, Iowa in 1871 and lived here all her life. On April 10, 1896 she married George Watkins at the home of her parents. George died on June 10, 1946. *George was born on December 9, 1870* She was the surviving member of her family.

Besides her daughter, she is survived by two sons both residing in California. Clyde Watkins is in Alhambra, California and Reeve Watkins is at Richmond, California.

Her body arrived by train on Wednesday evening and was taken to Martin Funeral Home where services will be held on Friday afternoon conducted by Rev. A.H. Grossheim. Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery, Waukon, Iowa.
