Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 6 at 1:30 p.m. for Lloyd T. Barrett, age 73, at Martin Funeral Chapel with Pastor Verdon Swenson officiating. Burial will be held in Oakland Cemetery. Martin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Vic DeBuhr, Greg Gilbertson, Lenny Burke, Lynn Folsom, John J. McCormick, and Robert Welch.

Lloyd Barrett died Monday, October 3, 1988 in the Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon, Iowa. He was born July 12, 1915 in Franklin Township, Allamakee County, Iowa to Charles and Mabel (Burnham) Barrett. He attended McGregor Elementary School and was a graduate of Postville High School. On May 31, 1940 he married Mae Wintrick in Davenport, Iowa. She died March 2, 1988.

Lloyd was a lifetime resident of this area and worked in the CCC during the 1930s. He also helped out on a fish hatchery and at Palisades Park in Decorah, Iowa. He was a retired farmer at the time of his death. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mae; two half-sisters, Daisy and Alde; a step-brother Morvin and a granddaughter Donna Mae.

Survivors include a son Gary Barrett of Waukon, Iowa; a step-sister Goldie Peck of Postville, Iowa; six grandchildren, James, Jeffrey, Jason, Lloyd, Cindy, Lucille, and Christian; and a great-granddaughter Rachael.
