Contributor: Connie Ellis (Not related)Lifelong Dorchester, Iowa resident Marguerite Gertrude Larson, age, 78, died Saturday, February 4, 1989 at Veterans Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were held Tuesday February 7 at 10:30 a.m. at St.Mary's Catholic Church in Dorchester. Father Henry Charipar officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery with Hanson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were her grandsons Joe Eiken, Dennis Kruse, Casey Larson, Jeff Rude, Ralph Doubek, and Jeff Williams.
Marguerite was born September 19, 1910 in Allamakee County to John and Mary (McKenna) Blake. She attended school through the eighth grade. On February 11, 1930 she married Henry Larson in Dorchester, Iowa. He died June 13, 1962. She was a housewife and a member of St.Mary's Church, Rosary Society, and ACCW.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Lawrence who died September 2, 1966; a grandchild, and three brothers, Bill, Patrick, and Jimmy Blake.
Surviving are six sons, Henry Jr., Herbert, Kenneth, Ralph, Walter, and Lowell Larson; seven daughters, Mrs. Charles (Genevieve) Rude, Mrs. Allen (Karen) Ullerich, Mrs. Keith (Alice) Miller, Mrs. Bart (Rose Ann) Williams, Mrs. Tony (Anna Marie) Danaher, Mrs. Norbert (Kathy) Kruse, and Mrs. Joe (Linda) Eiken; 36 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and eight brothers and sisters: John Blake, Mrs. Henry B. (Marie) Schulte, Mrs. Joe (Julia) Mauss, Mrs. Francis (Patricia) Byrnes, Mrs.Leo (Helen) White, Mrs. Don (Betty Hegeman, Mrs. Connie (Beatrice) Mauss, and Frances Blake.
