Leonard H. Ryan, age 89, of Waukom, Iowa died Sunday, November 20, 1988 at the Good Samaritan Center in Waukon, Iowa. Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 23 at 11 a.m. at St.John's Lutheran Church with the Rev. Lynn Groe officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery with Martin Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Ray Odegard, James Bloxham, Charles Folsom, Thomas and James Jones, and Thomas Stone.

Leonard was born December 15, 1898 in Union Prairie Township to Martin and Mary (Christensen) Ryan. He attended rural Allamakee schools and was a member of St.John's Church. A lifelong county resident, he had lived on the farm in Union Prairie until three years ago when he became a resident of Good Samaritan Center.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Mabel, and three brothers, Carl, Emmett, and Sidney Ryan.

Surviving are two sisters, Jessie Bender of Panaroma City, California and Mildred Jones of Waukon, Iowa and a brother, Harold Ryan of Lee's Summitt, Missouri.
