Services for Mary F. Hemstock, age 57, of Sparta,Wisconsin were held at 10 a.m. Friday, August 19 in St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Sparta. The Rev. Mark Walljasper officiated. Burial was in Cataract Cemetery.

Mary died Tuesday, August 16, 1988 in St.Mary's hospital. Mary was born July 15, 1931 in Waukon, Iowa to Francis and Verena (Burnham) Howe. On April 12, 1951 she married Lewis Hemstock in St.Patrick's Catholic Church in Waukon, Iowa. After his retirement from the Air Force in 1967, they lived in Riverside, California but moved to Sparta, Wisconsin in 1970. She worked for Spartek for more than 10 years until retiring. She was a member of Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary Chapter 61, Black River Falls, Wisconsin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a sister. Survivors are her husband and several aunts and uncles.
