Lillian May Hostetler, 87, of Waukon, Iowa died Sunday August 27, 1989 at Northgate Care Center in Waukon. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 30 at Martin Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Larry Olson officiated. Burial was in Portland Memorial Cemetery, Portland, OR.

She was born February 14, 1902 in Allamakee County, Iowa to John and Cleo (Boughman) Mitchell. On August 31, 1937 she married Harry Hostetler in Des Moines, Iowa. He died in 1975. They operated a donut shop and ice cream parlor in Portland. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Portland and a 50 year member of Rebekah Lodge.

Survivors include a step-son, Dale Hostetler of Rockaway, OR; three step-grandchildren and a brother, Dennis Mitchell of Monona, Iowa.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister Cloy and three brothers, Dave, Perry, and Ray Mitchell.
