Contributor: Connie Ellis (Not related)Adam Troy Hackman, 16, of rural Waukon died Wednesday, December 13, 1989 at University Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa. Funeral services were held Sunday, December 17 at 1:30 p.m. at Zion United Church of Christ. Pastors Edwin Cabrera and Michael Bremer conducted the services. Burial was in Village Creek Seventh Day Adventist Cemetery with Martin Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The son of A. Thomas Hackman of Las Cruces, NM and Jean (Olson) Hackman of Waukon, he was born February 28, 1973 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He attended kindergarten in Colorado and moved to Waukon in 1979 when he was six years old. A member of the junior class at Waukon Senior High, he had participated in track, football, and also weight lifting and summer softball. He had worked at Effigy Mounds and R.W. Pladsen Motors during the summer. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Surviving are his parents, two brothers, Jason and Aaron, and a sister Alyssa of Waukon; paternal grandparents, Arthur and Ethel Hackman of Colorado Springs, and maternal grandmother, Clara Maxine Olson of Decorah, Iowa.
Casket bearers were Jason and Aaron Hackman, Scott and Richard Olson, Robert Koester, Brian Welsh, Lewis Byrnes, and Dean Hanson.
