Ralph C. Boardman, 67, of Mission, TX, died Thurs., March 29, 2001, in Mission.
Funeral services were held Fri., April 6, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Guttenberg. Msgr. John McClean officiated. Interment was in Bethel Cemetery near Osterdock, IA. The Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home assisted the family.
Ralph Cyril Boardman was born Feb. 2, 1933 in Harpers Ferry, the son of Roy and Mary (McGrath) Boardman. Ralph graduated from Harpers Ferry High School in 1951. He served his country in the United States Army. He also Ralph worked for John Deer Works of Dubuque, retiring after 30 years. He was also a commercial fisherman.
Ralph was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 4148, AMVETS, and the Eagles Aerie Club #4114. He enjoyed riding bike, hunting, fishing, playing cards, and planting trees.
Survivor inclueds his wife, Rosemary Hendricks; one daughter, Jolens (Glenn) Freeman; five sons, Mike (Terry), Don (Sandi), and Gregg (Beth Kline) all of Colesburg, Wayne (Jackie) of Guttenberg, and John (Tracy) of Ryan; eight grandchildren; five step-grandchildren and one step-great-granddaughter; three brothers: Joseph (Denise) of Guttenberg, Bill (Shirley) of Cincinnati, OH, and Gerald (Karen) of Mondovi, WI.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Rita (Wachter) Boardman, and a granddaughter, Calista.
