The body of Mrs. Joseph A'Hearn, whose death occurred Monday in a hospital at Pasadena, Calif. following a few hours illness, will arrive here Friday for burial in St. Mary's cemetery, Hanover township, beside her husband who died Oct 16, 1926. Times of the funeral sevices are pending.
Agnes Devitt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Devitt, was born in French Creek township July 13, 1879, her entire life being spent in this vicinity. In April 1902, her marriage to Joseph A'Hearn took place at St. Mary's church, Lycurgus. She and her husband established their home in Hanover township where their nine children were born. All are living except a son Gerald, who was killed in action in Holland during World War II, and his body rests in a national cemetery at Louisvville, Ky.
Those left to mourn her sudden passing are Mrs. David Deeney (Irene), and Mrs. John O'Hagan (Helen) of Pasadena, Calif. Clement A'Hearn and Mrs. Kermit Williams (Grace), Washington, D. C., Frances and Martin, Waukon, and John with the Air Force at Anchorage, Alaska.
Also three brother, Francis and Martin, Waukon, and Michael of Hanover township. There are 28 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Mrs. A'Hearn accompanied her daughter Mrs. Deeney to Wahington, D.C. last fall for a visit with her children, and to avoid Iowa's winter weather she returned to Pasadena with Mrs. Deeney two weeks ago, where she hoped to spend a pleasant winter in that sunny climate.
