Contributor: Connie Ellis (Not related)Funeral services for Elmer Brockmeyer were held Monday, December 9, 1985 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville, Iowa. Rev. Julius L. Peterson officiated. Schutte Funeral Service of Postville was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Postville Cemetery.
Elmer Jacob Carl Brockmeyer, son of William and Anna (Meyer) Brockmeyer, was born December 2, 1906 at Postville. He died at home December 5, 1985. He was baptized February 17, 1907 in St. Paul Lutheran Church by Pastor M.O. Puhl. September 11, 1921 he was confirmed there by Pastor Eugene Schmidt.
On May 6, 1942 he was united in marriage with Lillian Adelia Larson in Monona, Iowa by Pastor Herman W. Siefkes of Monona. After their marriage they made their home on the farm northwest of Postville for 25 years. They moved to Postville in December 1966. Elmer was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church his entire life.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving is his wife, Adelia and several cousins. Casket bearers were John Drahos, Eugene Baltz, Dr. R.F. Schneider, Leonard Thoma, Milton Turner, and Elden Lenth.
