Funeral Services Held For Mrs. Sam Weipert
Funeral services were held Monday morning from Immaculate Conception Church in Lansing for Mrs. Samuel Weipert, 54, who passed away Friday, August 13 at the Lutheran Hospital, LaCrosse following a couple of years illness. She had been a patient there a few times since undergoing surgery two years ago.
As Lillian M. Tippery she was born June 5, 1911 to Mr. and Mrs. William Tippery in Jefferson township in Minnesota near New Albin and as a little girl came with the family to Lansing to make her home. She has always lived in Allamakee county. She was educated in the local schools and on September 2nd, 1926 was married to Sam Weipert in Waukon. Besides her husband she is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Rosemary Dill, Racine, Wis., Mrs. Wayne (Florence) Snitker, Churchtown, Mrs. Bill (Gladys) Decker of Ossian, three sons, Robert of Dubuque, Thomas and Samuel Weipert of Lansing. Other immediate survivors include 3 brothers, Alden Ray and Lester Tippery, Prairie du Chien, Wis., three sisters, Mrs. Robert Linzemeyer, Mrs. Charles Spiker, Prairie du Chien and Mrs. Dave Hjelle of Ferryville, Wis., her mother, Mrs. Tippery of Prairie along with twenty grandchildren. Besides her father, one daughter and two sons preceded her in death. She was devoted to her family and home and for many years while her health permitted she was an industrious employee of the Lansing Company, Inc.
Rt. Rev. Msgr. Victor Hintgen offered the Mass of Requiem and Father Thomas Schwinn said the final prayers at the graveside in Gethsemane Cemetery where interment was made. Serving as casket bearers were Clarence Weipert, Walter Arndt, Peter Jangula, Freddie Hogan, Robert and Richard Weber.Allamakee Journal
