Attend Funeral Service For Fred W. McClintock
Mrs. M. C. Deering and Mrs. Fred Hangartner arrived home Sunday from Maxwell where they had gone to attend the funeral of their half-brother and uncle, Fred W. McClintock, who had passed away last Tuesday. He was aged 78 years and 10 months.
Mr. McClintock was born near Plainfield, Wis., February 22, 1866, and came to Postville as a boy, growing to manhood here. He was engaged in farming for a time, then conducted the stage coach line to Waukon and also conducted a dray line in Postville. In 1900 he went to Story county and settled at Maxwell.
He was married in 1901 to Ida Griffith and the couple had two children. Mrs. McClintock and one son, Clay Frederick, preceded him in death some years ago.
In 1928 he married Edith Stone, who survives him, as does his daughter, four step-children, a half brother, Jess Uhl and a half-sister, Mrs. Deering, both of Postville.
For over thirty years Mr. McClintock conducted a feed, coal and produce business in Maxwell.
