William Schlitter 1823-1911

Word was received that brother William Schlitter, formerly of Monona, Iowa, passed away on May 6, 1911 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin of bronchitis and dropsy. He was born April 18, 1823 at Gross Massow, Germany and married Karolina Neubauer on October 13, 1849. They were the parents of six children, two sons, and four daughters. In 1875 they came to America, settling in Allamakee County, in Linton township near Watson, Iowa. In 1907 Karolina died and William moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to live with his son, C. Schlitter, who is a minister of an Evangelical Church. William was buried at the Council Hill Cemetery near Watson.
