Patricia Joan Benson, 60, of Tripoli, died Thursday, May 4, 1995, at her home after a lengthy illness.
She was born Feb. 23, 1935 in Lansing, the daughter of Raymond and Della Severson Spinner. She was baptized March 3, 1935 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Lansing. In 1953 she graduated from St. Patrick's Catholic School in Waukon.
She married Thomas Benson May 11, 1957 at St. Bridget's Catholic Church in Postville.
She is survived by her husband, Tom of Tripoli; three sons, Kyle of Aurora, Co. and Robert and Raymond of Tripoli; five daughters, Mona Milius of Tripoli, Jo Lenox and Adele Benson of Aurora, CO, Ruth Kirchhoff of Tripoli, and Allyson Benson of Kabwe, Zambia, Africa; ten grandchildren; three brothers, Raymond Spinner, Donald Spinner and Michael Spinner; and four sisters, Sister Magdelle Spinner, Kay O'Malley, Mary Lou Halverson and Jan Gunderson.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter Mary Jane, who died in infancy and a brother Robert, who died in infancy.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 6, at Immaculate Conception Church, Sumner, with interment in Pinhook Cemetery, rural Tripoli.
