January 1, 1918 in Nashua a New Year’s baby was born to Henry J. Wagner and Mathilda Gavin Wagner. Her name was Agatha Vera. She attended country schools in Caledonia, MN and graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in Lansing in 1934. After graduation, Agatha worked at Lansing Company. October 16, 1944 she was joined in marriage to John Pete Spinner and in January of 1948 she had twins and became a stay-at-home mom, with nephew John Gruber, whom she also raised, joining the family four years later. In 1969 she returned to Lansing Company and worked there until her retirement.
Agatha was a dutiful and loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend. She was a devoted Christian Mother and a firm believer in the power of prayer, especially the Rosary. She was an active member of I.C. Parish in Lansing, an ACCW member and past officer, a charter member of the Aquinas Study Club, and a volunteer at I.C. school.
Aggie will be remembered as a wonderful caregiver, a gracious hostess, and a writer of poetry. She loved the Christmas holiday, opening her home to friends and family, and was known for her delicious homemade divinity. She was very proud of her Irish heritage, her Democratic politics, especially the Kennedys, and the beautiful geraniums on her front porch.
She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Betty Jane (Sam) Bell of Columbus Junction; her nephew, John H. Gruber of La Crosse, WI; her sister-in-law, Laverne Spinner, and brother-in-law, Louis P. Spinner, both of Lansing; and many loving nieces and nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Spinner; four sisters, Coletta Omdahl, Marie Wagner, Catherine Lee and Cecelia Gruber; and five brothers-in-law, Paul P. Spinner, Charles P. Spinner, Earling Omdahl, Ervin Gruber, and George Lee.
