Rites Held For Former Resident

Cary T. McWilliams, former Cedar Rapids resident, died in a Kansas City hospital Friday afternoon, March 1, 1957. He was born February 6, 1877 at Postville, Iowa, the son of James B. and Sarah Neeling McWilliams. He married Edna Roper of Cresco and operated a drug store in Chester for 20 years before moving to Cedar Rapids. After his wife passed away 15 years ago, he went to Kansas City to be with his son, Paul.

Surviving Mr. McWilliams are his son, Paul and one grandson; also one sister, Mrs. Fred (Ethel) Thoma of Postville. Preceding him in death were his parents, three sisters, one granddaughter; his wife and three brothers, Virgil of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, Emmet of Madison, Wisconsin and George of Whittier, California.

While living in Cedar Rapids, Mr. McWilliams was a member of the Central Park Presbyterian Church. Services were held at Kansas City on Monday and graveside services were conducted in Cedar Memorial Cemetery at Cedar Rapids at 2 p.m. on Tuesday by Dr. Harry M. Gage.
