Donelle Cunningham, 15, of Waukon, died Monday, March 15, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in LaCrosse, Wis., following injuries suffered in an automobile accident Saturday, March 6.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 18, at 11 a.m., at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Waukon, with the Rev. Msgr. Ed Lechtenberg officiating.

Casket bearers will be Steve, Tom and Eugene Gander, Gary Shawyer, Jeff Magner and Lee Crockett.

Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Waukon. The Martin Funeral Home of Waukon is handling arrangements.

Donelle Renae Cunningham was born May 3, 1983, in Decorah, the daughter of Donald Joseph and Bonnie Lou (Gander) Cunningham. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, where she attended CCD.

Donelle attended St. Patrick's Elementary School and had been a 9th grader at Waukon Junior High School, where she also was a football cheerleader.

She enjoyed baby-sitting, playing softball in summer leagues, rollerblading, talking to friends on the phone, putting puzzles together, music and going to dances.

Survivors include her parents, Don and Bonnie Cunningham; her sister, LeAnne, and brother, Shawn; paternal grandmother Doris Cunningham; and maternal grandparents Earl and Jean Gander, all of Waukon; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Donelle Cunningham was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, John Cunningham.
