Mrs Richard SUCKOW, nee Sophia ROSS ,was born at Volga City, Highland Twp, Iowa, January 11th,1899.

At an early age she lost her parents and was adopted by Charles MECKLENBURG. She was confirmed in the Lutheran Church at Postville.

On January 14, 1915, she married Richard SUCKOW. The union was blest by God inasmuch as he vouchsafed unto them four children, Velma, LaVanda, Willis and infant Verda Mae. Since their marriage, they have resided on a farm near Castalia.

On Friday February 2nd, she became seriously ill and after carrying on for another seven days, at times unconsciously, she answered Gods summons on Friday afternoon, February 9th. The days of her Earthly pilgrimage are 24 years and 28 days. She has held membership in Zion's Lutheran Church of Castalia for several years.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon,February 12th,from the Lutheran Church of Postville, conducted by Rev. A. Hoferer of Castalia.

Those left to mourn her death are her husband, the four children above mentioned: an aunt,Mrs Charles MARTIN of Postville, two uncles, Chas MECKLENBURG of Castalia and Will MECKLENBURG of Chester.
