Gustav Lippe
Gustav Lippe, 83, of Waukon, died Saturday, Sept. 11, 1999, at Northgate Care Center in Waukon, following a lengthy illness.
Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 13, at 2 p.m., at the Martin Funeral Home in Waukon, with the Rev Lynn Groe officiating.
Casket bearers were Jim, Robert, Curtis, Richard and Ronald C. Lippe, and Norvin Qualey. Burial was at the Lansing Ridge Cemetery in rural Lansing. The Martin Funeral Home of Waukon handled arrangements.
Gustav Lippe was born Oct. 28, 1915 in Center Township, Allamakee County, rural Waukon, the son of John and Emma (Rissman) Lippe. He attended rural elementary schools.
Gus worked for various area farmers and was particularly fond of caring for livestock. He lived at Makee Manor for over 40 years until recently moving to Northgate Care Center in Waukon.
Survivors include nieces and nephews.
Gustav Lippe was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Viete Hanson, Mildred Lippe and Lorine Nesbitt; and three brothers, Emil, Willard and Herman Lippe.
