Ruth Farley

Ruth E. Farley, 72, of Lansing died Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at Franciscan Skemp Health Care in La Crosse, WI. Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, July 26 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lansing with Rev. Daniel Knipper officiating the service. Interment will be at Gethsemane Cemetery, Lansing.

Ruth Esther Roney was born January 1, 1938 at Decorah. She was the daughter of Ralph and Angeline (Klotzbach) Roney. She attended school in the Decorah area.

March 19, 1956 she was united in marriage with James Francis Farley at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Wexford. Ruth worked at Wapsie Produce in Decorah most of her career. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lansing.

She is survived by five children, Kathleen (Steve) Troendle of Lansing, Paul (Donna) Farley of Decorah, Dennis Farley of Decorah, Colleen (Randy) Martie of Postville, and Marleen (Dan) Hayek of Spillville; grandchildren, Chris (Aja) Troendle, Eric (Jana) Troendle, Matt (Megan) Troendle, Joel (Ashley) Farley, Jason (Steph) Farley, Jeremy Farley, David Farley, Michelle Farley, Daryl Farley, Kelli Farley, Melissa Martie, Corey Martie, Stevie Dahl, Erica Dahl, Shane Dahl, and Brandon Dahl; step-grandchildren, Nikki Hayek and Steve (ChiAnn) Burke; great-grandchildren, Jesse Troendle, Kylie Troendle, Tom Troendle, Tanner Troendle, Riley Troendle, Regan Troendle, Adalyn Farley, Haidyn Farley, Nicholas Farley, Anastasia Farley, Isaiah Burke, and Tannin Burke; three sisters, Jeanette (Gordon) Harms, Elaine Kessler, and Trudy Barrett; four brothers, Arlyn (Pat) Roney, Donnie (Arlene) Roney, Duane (Linda) Roney, and Dale (Dawn) Roney; and in-laws, Janet Farley, Judy (George) Stahl, Jean Yeoman, Donald (Barbara) Farley Beverly Farley, and Joanne Roney.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Angeline Roney; her husband, James Francis Farley; a son, Kevin Farley; a grandson, Phillip Hayek; in-laws, Chester and Anna Farley; one brother, Robert Roney; and brothers-in-law, Elmer Yeoman, John Barrett, Bernie Gacke, Dick Kessler, and Jerry Farley.
