Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 31, for Clarence C. Carroll, 85, who died Saturday, May 28 at the Good Samaritan Home in Waukon. Fr. Ed Lechtenberg officiated at the 10 a.m. services held at St. Patrick's Catholic church in Waukon. Burial was in the Gethsemane Cemetery in Lansing with Martin Bros. Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

He was on Feb. 11, 1903 in Lansing to Rufus and Mary Clancy Carroll and graduated from Immaculate Conception high school in Lansing. He grew up in Lansing and then worked in steel mills during W.W. II in Chicago, Ill & Gary, Indiana areas. He returned to Lansing, later moved to Marion, IA where he worked as a machinist at Iowa Manufacturing for 17 years. On August 26, 1950, he married Mildred Dahley at Preston, MN.
He was a member of St. Patrick's church, National Council of Senior Citizens, Inc., and the Grand Lodge of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers.

Surviving are his wife, five stepsons, Roger Engrav of St. Louis, MO, Walter Engrav of Waukon, Francis and Richard Engrav, both of Cedar Rapids, and Curtis Snitker of St. Charles, IL; 19 step-grandchildren; 14 step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Antoinette Schnitzler of Hartford, WI. and a niece Mary Green of Los Angeles, CA.
