Requiem Mass for John B. Howard, 68, was offered Monday morning at ten thirty at St. Bride's Catholic Church on Chicago's south side. He passed away on Thursday, April 22nd at Mt. Sinai Hospital and he was married to Kathleen Mathis, former Lansing girl. Besides his widow he is survived by four daughters: Sister Sean Kathleen, Mrs. Jeanne Neischbach, Mrs. Kathleen Flannagan and Mrs. Laurayne Dunn; one brother and nine grandchildren. He was a civil engineer for the Cook County Highway department for many years until failing health forced his retirement. Among the folks from this area who drove in Sunday afternoon to attend the funeral services were Mr. and Mrs. David Bangs of Charles City; Mrs. Leo Mathis of Lansing and Mrs. Mel Wiedner of Harpers Ferry.
