The death of Harold Fossum occurred on May 30 at Veteran's Memorial Hospital following an illness of several months duration.
Mr. Fossum was born April 27, 1911 at LaCrosse, Wis., a son of Theodore and Lavina Knudtson Fossum and had lived all his live in Allamakee County. He was married at Waukon on February 8, 1935 to Amy Olson at Waukon. They farmed for a number of years in Paint Creek township and moved to Waukon only a few years ago.
Surviving are his wife, seven sons and one daughter. Thomas of the U.S. Air Force; Richard, Lamotte; Leslie Arlyn, Robert and Ronald, Los Angeles, Calif. Their are nine grandchildren and six sisters: Thelma, Mrs. John Holmes, Homewood, Ill.; Gladys, Mrs. Theodore Bakke and Agnes, Mrs. Williard Kruger, Waukon; Norma, Mrs. James Curran, Lansing; Eleanor, Mrs. Ellsworth Harkness and Leona, Mrs. Herman Vaughn of LaCrosse, Wis.
Funeral services were held on Saturday afternoon at 1:30 from the Old West Paint Lutheran Church of which he was a member with the Rev. E.O. Baalson officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.

Submitter's note: daughter Esther's name was omitted from this obituary. Also Leslie, Arlyn and Robert are living in Waukon area not Los Angeles as obituary seems to indicate.
