Floyd J. Mount, 81, died Monday, August 7, 1978 at Veteran;s Memorial Hospital in Waukon.
He was born September 19, 1896 in Allamakee County to Samuel and Cora Dixon Mount. He attended local schools and was engaged in farming. He married Viola Knickerbocker Haas on December 28, 1950, their married life was spent on a farm in Lycurgus.
Floyd is survived by his wife, a son Floyd Jr. and a daughter Elaine, of Waukon, two step-daughters, Mrs. Carl (Rose) Kessel of Waterloo and Mrs. Richard (Edith) Bloxham of Waukon, also three step-sons, Earl and Douglas Haas of Waukon and Charles of Gulfport, Mississippi; sixteen grandchildren and a brother, Roy Mount of Monona. A daughter Violet, and sisters, Ruby, Ada, Grace, Florence and Belva preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held Thursday, August 10 at 11 a.m. at Martin funeral home. Burial was in St. Mary's Lycurgus Church cemetery.
