Funeral services for Mrs. Theresia Freilinger were held Friday morning at I.C. Church, Lansing. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. Henry Scharphoff offered the Requiem Mass.
Burial was at St. Joseph's Cemetery, New Albin, the Rev. Edgar Kolfenbach officiating at the grave.
Mrs. Freilinger passed away at the home of her youngest daughter, Mrs, Leonard Gander Tuesday evening, Oct. 11th, 1960, where she had been making her home for the past seven years. She lived in New Albin until 10 years ago when due to ill health she went to live with her children. On Oct. 4, 1952, she fell and fractured her hip which left her an invalid.
The last living member of a family of thirteen children she was born at Caledonia, Minn., Sept. 8, 1874, a daughter of Carl and Mary Thimmesch. On November 23, 1897 she was married to Christe Freilinger who preceded her in death on April 21, 1938. To this union were born eight children. The oldest Daughter, Mrs. Peter (Rosa) Rouster who preceded her in death, February, 1936. Surviving are five daughters and two sons; Mrs. Wesley Hilda Foster, Mrs. Walter Clara Benjamin, Minneapolis, Minn.; Mrs. Thomas F. Doretta Strub, Arpin, Wis.; Mrs. Nick Della Schauls, Mrs. Leonard Theresa Gander, Lansing; Matthias, Monona; William, New Albin. Also 36 grandchildren and 70 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were 6 grandsons, Roderick Freilinger, Raymond Schutz, James Schutz, Irvin Rouster, Norm Schauls and Theo. Strub Jr.
Honorary pallbearers were members of the Rosary Society of which the deceased was a lifetime member Mrs. Maggie Howard; Mis Vern Fest, Mrs. Kate Stirn, Mrs. Elsie Krieger, Mrs. Tilda Hurley and Miss Loretta Mullarkey. Burke's Funeral Home made the arrangements.
