Mr. Claire McGeough, 58, died on Thursday morning at Independence. Services were from Burke Funeral Home to Cherry Mound at 11 o'clock Saturday morning. Interment at St. Pius Church Cemetery.
He was the youngest son of Chales (sic) and Jane Cosgrove McGeough, deceased. Survivors are two sisters and 6 brothers. Mrs. Mary Gavin, Rossville; John McGeough, Waterville; Vince and Irvin, Harpers Ferry; Mrs. Margaret Rooney and Frank McGeough, Waukon; Leo McGeough, Chicago and Bernard, New Hampton.
An infant brother, Michael, a sister Martina, and a brother Clem preceded him in death. Clem was killed in World War I.
After farming in the Waterville area, Clair did construction work. Pallbearers were: Pat Kilroy, Chicago; Cletus Rooney, Waukon; Charles McGeough, Parkersburg; James McGeough, Milwaukee, Wis.; LeRoy McGeough, Harpers Ferry; and Keith McGeough, Waterville.
