Funeral services for William H. Miller were held in the Schutte Chapel, Postville, Tuesday, March 31, at 1:30 p.m. He died Thursday, March 26 in St. Louis, Missouri, following a lingering illness.
William Harvey Miller, son of Charles and Emily Steele Miller, was born Feb. 27, 1888 in Chickasaw County, Williamstown, Iowa. His parents moved to Boscobel, Wisconsin, when he was still a child. In 1907 he moved to North Dakota.
He was united in marriage to Myrtle Siltman in Jamestown, North Dakota, Nov. 3, 1915. To this union four children were born: Robert, Catherine, Loretta and Lucille. His livelihood had been farming, logging and shipfitter. He served on the school board in Oregon for a number of years.
Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Miller and four brothers, two died in infancy, Ad Miller and John D. Miller; also two sisters Mrs. Eva Drake and Mrs. Alice Wayne.
He is survived by his wife, Myrtle and four children: Robert L. Miller of Portland, Oregon; Mrs. Van (Catherine) Caris of Lake Grove, Oregon, Mrs. Loretta Hasty of Cahokia, Illinois and Mrs. Daniel (Lucille) Davis of Postville. Also one sister, Mrs. Madge Harris, one brother Henry Miller, both of Madison, Wisconsin. Seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren also survive.
Interment was in the Postville.
