Gladys Helen Eadie, daughter of Ludwig William and Minnie (Klemme) Sunderman, was born July 19, 1908 at Waukon, Iowa. She died Monday, March 13, 1995 in Veterans Memorial Hospital at Waukon, Iowa. She was 86 years old.
She was baptized and confirmed in the Zion United Church of Christ at Waukon where she was a lifetime member. She attended the Waukon High School.
On June 30, 1936 she was married to Gilbert H. Edie in the Zion United Church of Christ at Waukon by the Reverends Van Nice and Frank Stucke. To this union four children were born.
Gladys was a helpmate to her husband throughout their many years together. She worked beside Gilbert in the field and sewed clothing for her family as well as taking time to cane chairs.
She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Earl Sunderman.
Surviving are her husband, Gilbert, of Waukon, three daughters, Karan Marie (David) LaBonne of Vancouver, Wash., Elaine Ann Eadie of Waukon, Jean Elizabeth (Ron) Fish of Oconomowoc, Wisc., and a son, John Gilbert (JoAnn) Eadie of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; nine grandchildren, Carmen Freed and Scott LaBonne, Lynn and Kyle Rose, Nadine Hansmeier, Brian and Blaine Fish and Todd and Trent Eadie; and two great grandchildren, Scott Hansmeier and Nicholas Rose.
Family services and interment will be at a later date. The Schutte Funeral service of Postville was in charge of arrangements.
