Johanne Marie Christine Schuette, whose maiden name was Hoth, was born in Munson, Germany, August 10, 1848, and died at her home near Frankville, Iowa, at 12:30 p.m., Thursday, February 11, 1909, aged 60 years, six months and one day.

She came to America in 1880 and on February 25, 1881, she was married to Fred Schuette. This union was blessed with 5 children. She enjoyed good health until last fall, when she was attacked by cancer of the liver. Everything was done for that could be, but human skill was powerless to stay the ravages of the disease and she gradually grew weaker day by day until her demise. Realizing that there was no help for her, she set her house in order and when the summons came she was prepared to go.

She is survived by her husband, four sons, a daughter, four brothers and two sisters, who with many friends mourn the loss of a faithful wife, loving mother, true friend and neighbor.

The funeral was held from the Lutheran church last Suday at 12 o'clock, Rev. R. Kuehne officating. Interment in the Postville cemetery.
