Frances M. Larson, 81, of Manchester, passed away early Saturday morning, April 6, 2002, at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester, following a brief illness.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First Lutheran Church in Manchester, with the Reverend James Walth officiating. Burial was in Pine View Cemetery, north of Delaware.

Frances Marie, daughter of Sherman William and Rosa Marie (Schneider) Harford, was born Sept. 21, 1920, in Hopkinton. She attended country school in the Turtle Creek area, south of Manchester, and graduated from Manchester High School with the Class of 1938. Following graduation, she did housekeeping and child care in Manchester until marriage.

Frances was united in marriage to Kenneth E. Larson Jan. 5, 1958, the last couple to be married at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Delaware. Following marriage, they farmed east of Delhi. They moved into Manchester to make their home shortly thereafter in 1960, while continuing to farm until retirement in 1990.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth, of Manchester; one daughter, Olivia (Dave) Bell of Waukon; one son, Steven (Jodi) Larson of Waukon; and three grandsons, Drew, Nicholas, and Marcus Bell, all of Waukon.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Linda Lou, at birth.

Shelly Funeral Home of Manchester was in charge of arrangements.
