Jeannine Marie Harris Levenhagen, daughter of Roger and Gretchen Harris, was born November 3, 1932 at Postville, Iowa. She passed away at the home of her parents in Postville, on Monday, December 17, 1962.
Jeannine was graduated from the Postville high school and attended the State College of Iowa at Cedar Falls for one year. She was secretary to the superintendent of Postville schools for more than a year and also did secretarial work for the Community Presbyterian Church. Later she was employed by the Link-Belt Speeder Co., in Cedar Rapids.
On August 29, 1953, Jeannine Marie Harris was married to Lawrence Eugene Levenhagen at Postville.
To this union four children were born, Susan Elise, Julie Marie, Lawrence Eugene, Jr. and Ann Elizabeth.
Jeannine is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Harris of Postville; her husband, Lawrence Eugene Levenhagen of Effingham, Illinois; four children; one sister, Jennifer and one brother, Ronald, both of Postville; and one grandparent, Mrs. Frank Hangartner of Postville and three nieces and one nephew.
Jeannine united with the Community Presbyterian Church on confession of faith on April 2, 1944. She was active in church work serving in many capacities, one of which was that of a Sunday School Teacher. Lawrence and Jeannine were skippers of the Mariners Club at Effingham, Illinois, at the time of her death.
Funeral services will be held at the Community Presbyterian Church, Wednesday, December 19, 1962 at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Walter T. Martin in charge of the services. Burial will be in the Postville cemetery.
