Jeffrey Lee Johnson, 62, of West Des Moines passed away Thursday, March 11, 2010 at The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, March 18, at Brooks Funeral Care in Clive, with the family receiving friends one hour prior to the service.
Jeffrey loved to fish, garden, and bird watch. He fondly watched his grandchildren play sports. Jeffrey will be remembered as a loving grandfather, father, son, brother, and loving partner and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Jeffrey is survived by his companion, Sharon Walker; daughters, Heather Johnson and Andrea Johnson; step-daughter, Jodi Walker; grandchildren, Joshua Johnson, Shianne Johnson, and Nevaeh Degard; mother, Emily Johnson; siblings, Dan Johnson and Denise (Don) Hunt; niece, Julie (Dennis) Johnson; nephew, Jesse (Tina) Hunt, as well as many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Jules Johnson.
Memorials may be directed to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, 200 Hawkins Drive, Iowa City, IA 52242. Memorial service to be held at a later date at Mt. Hosmer in Lansing.
