SCOTTSDALE, Arizona --- Rodney P. Lien, a retired real estate broker in Scottsdale and Phoenix, died May 30 in the Baptist Hospital. He was 64.

Born in Postville, Mr. Lien moved to Arizona nine years ago from Cleveland, Ohio. In Ohio, he had been a vice president of the Cleveland Trust Co. and was the superintendent of banking for the state for two years.

He was a member of the Valley Presbyterian Church in Scottsdale. Memorial services were conducted May 31 at the church.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Nora C. Lien of Scottsdale; three daughters, Mrs. Joan Sommers, Mrs. Nancy McBride, both of Scottsdale, Mrs. Melinda Wheaton of Tylor, Texas and six grandchildren.
