Funeral Services Held For Mrs. Goeke At Ludlow Church

Funeral services were held last Friday at the Ludlow Bethlehem Church for Mrs. Otto Goeke, 66, who passed away at her home in Ludlow on June 16.

Mrs. Otto Goeke, nee Amelia Adam, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Simon Adam, was born on April 14, 1887, at Higgensville, Missouri and passed away at her home Tuesday, June 16, at 12:30 p.m. She reached the age of 66 years, two months and two days.

At six years of age she came with her parents to Iowa and settled in Ludlow township.

As an infant she was baptized May 22, 1887. She was confirmed and united with the Bethlehem Presbyterian Church on March 22, 1902.

Mrs. Goeke grew to womanhood in this community and was united in marriage to Otto Goeke April 11, 1906. To this union three children were born: two daughters, Inez (Mrs. Elmer Klepper), and Ida (Mrs. Edwin Klepper), both of Waukon; and one son, Robert, of Postville.

The departed lived on the same place for 47 years until her death. Her passing was quite sudden and unexpected.

She leaves to mourn her departure, her husband; two daughter; one son; three sisters, Mrs. Julia Blum, Mrs. August Nagel of Ludlow and Mrs. John Klien of Delavan, Wisconsin; three brothers, Fred, William and Martin, all of Ludlow; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Her parents, two sisters, Mrs. Fred Klocke and Lydia, and three brothers, Simon, August, and John, preceded her in death.
