Lynette Schultz, 49, of Postville died Monday, February 1, 2010 at Palmer Lutheran Health Center, West Union, following a four-month battle with leukemia. Funeral Services were held Friday, February 5 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville, Iowa. The Rev. Steve Brackett officiated. Burial will follow at the Postville Cemetery in Postville.
Lynette was born May 24, 1960 in Waukon to LaVern and Jeanette (Rose) Johnson. She was baptized July 10, 1960 and confirmed April 27, 1975 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville. She graduated from Postville High School in 1978 and Ellsworth Community College.
Lynette was united in marriage to Myron Schultz February 2, 1980 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville. Three children were born to this union. In high school, Lynette ran concession at the pool. She worked for 18 years at the Turkey Plant in Postville. She also did beef sales for Agriprocessors and worked for Greenes and Pinnacle Financial Group in Decorah. She enjoyed cross-stitching and going out to eat Chinese food. Spending time with her friends and family was a great joy to her. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her three children, Matthew Schultz of Postville, Annie Schultz (special friend Hector) of Postville, and Natalie (Fernando) Mayorga of Postville; her parents, LaVern and Jeanette Johnson of Postville; one granddaughter, Olivia Ultreras-Schultz; one sister, JoDee (Bruce) Anderson of Postville; her mother-in-law, Ernestine Schultz of Castalia; four brothers- and sisters-in-laws, Susan (Don) Haberkorn of Castalia, Kevin (Deb) Schultz of Postville, Tom (Char) Schultz of Castalia, and Kathy (Mike) Johnson of Castalia; and many nieces and nephews.
Lynette was preceded in death by her husband, Myron Schultz, January 16, 2005; and one grandson, Mateo Mayorga.
