Mrs. John Shields Dies on Saturday

Succumbs At Hospital After Two Months of Ill Health

After two months of poor health, Mrs. John Shields, 61, of 409 E. Johnson St., died at a local hospital yesterday of a stroke.

She is survived by her husband and two brothers, John Spring, Madison, and Edward Spring, Oregon.

Funeral services will be conducted sometime Tuesday from St. Raphael's Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Funeral services for Mrs. John Shields, 409 E. Johnson St., were held today (Tuesday) in the home and at St. Raphael's Church, the Rev. William Mahoney officiating. Pallbearers were John Cunnien, Buck Powers, John Cassidy, Arthur Spring, Raymond LaCrosse, and Clarence Haas. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.

Note: Sophia Spring was a daughter of John and Marianna Kaeser Spring and was born in Waukon, Iowa in November 1872.
