Mrs. ROLAND (Esther Sophia Amelia Flage) KIESAU
Funeral services for Esther Kiesau, 75, were held Tuesday, Jan. 29 at Salem United Church of Christ, rural Waukon, Rev. Dr. Elsa Marsland officiated. Burial was in the Salem Cemetery. Martin's Funeral Home, Waukon, was in charge of arrangements.
Esther Sophia Amelia Kiesau, daughter of Benjamin Flage and Meta Held Flage, was born March 11, 1915 at the family farm in Ludlow Township. She died January 26, 1991 at the Good Samaritan Center, Waukon.
She was baptized and confirmed in German at the Bethlehem Presbyterian church, rural Postville. She attended a Ludlow rural school.
On April 29, 1941 she married Roland Kiesau at the Bethlehem Presbyterian Church. They farmed in Ludlow Township. She lived in Waukon since 1978 and had been a resident at the good Samaritan Center for 6 months.
She was a member of Salem United Church of Christ and belonged to the women's organization there.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Roland in June, 1977; and a brother, Albert Flage.
Surviving are her children, Mrs. John (Jody) Ingwersen, Hoffman Estates, IL., Mary Kiesau, Bloomington, MN and Ken Kiesau, Dublin, OH; brothers and sisters, Ralph Flage, Irvin Flage and Leo Flage, all of Postville.
Casket bearers: Neil Krumme, Jim Stock, Duane Duve, Donus Duve, Donald Hanson, Roland Kiesau, Kent Schultz and Joel Timmerman.
