PECK-At his home in Waukon,Iowa;Monday, July 1,1894, Samuel Peck, aged 77 years, 3 months and 29 days.
He was born in Allegany, N.Y., March 11,1817.
About 54 years ago he married Miss Mary Wight.
They came west about 37 years ago this spring and for two years made his home at the pioneer town of Moneek, over in the southeast corner of Winneshiek county, and 35 yearsago he made his home in Waukon where he has since resided and pursued successfully his avocation of mason as a contractor and builder, for years past being the senior member of the firm of S.Peck & Son, the other partner being Nelson Peck.
He was the father of six children, of whom Albert, Nelson,and Mrs.Hannah Harvey and Mrs.Sarah Stone of Nebraska, survive him.
Mrs.Peck died in 1888.
He was a faithful and active member of the Baptist church for more than fifty years and will long be missed by the church of his chioce.
The funeral will be held at the Baptist church today at 2:30 p.m., the services conducted by the pastor Rev.E.E. Tyson
