Funeral services for Paul Fiet were held April 23, 10:30 a.m. at Bethlehem United Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Roger Hawthorne officiated.

Paul David Fiet, 81, died April 20 at his home in Ludlow Township. He was born December 17, 1897 in Ludlow Township, son of Conrad and Caroline (Flage) Fiet. He attended the local schools.

He married Ruth Shafer May 11, 1922 at her home in Ludlow. To this union one son, Ben, was born. Paul farmed in Ludlow Township all of his life and was a member of Bethlehem United Presbyterian Church, serving as a ruling elder. He belonged to the Farm Bureau and served on the board of directors of school #7.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth; one son, Ben; one brother, Walter of Ludlow; and one sister, Martha Winke of Waukon.

He was preceded in death by three brothers: Albert, John and Edward; and three sisters: Minnie Stock, Mary Ludeking and Lydia Fiet.

Martin Funeral Home of Waukon was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the church cemetery.
