SERVICES HELD FOR RUEBEN C. GROTEGUT

Rueben C. Grotegut, 80 of Waukon, died Saturday, Dec. 22 at his home.

He was born Feb. 4, 1899 in Winneshiek county to Henry and Lydia Becker Grotegut. He married Nora Saak July 17, 1923 at the Zalmona church. He had attended local schools, was a farmer and a member of Salem United Church of Christ.

He is survived by two sons, Roger and Willard of Waukon, nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, one brother Calvin of Decorah, and a sister Stella Stunes of Waukon. He was preceded in death by a sister Mabel and a brother Walter.

Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 24 at 10:30 a.m. at the Salem church with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Jean-Paul Zenke officiated and pallbearers were Donald Flage, DuWayne Snitker, Henry Schmidt, Craig Grotegut, Neil Krumme an Mike Kimber. Martin funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
