Last Rites For John Schneider Will Be Friday

The death of John H. Schneider, 82, occurred at the Good Samaritan Center in Waukon, March 9, where he resided since November.

He was born October 8, 1881, in Center Township and lived in Allamakee County all his life. He was the son of Jacob and Margaret Shafer Schneider and was educated in local schools. April 26, 1911 he married Sophie Mae Kaeser, who preceded him in death May 9, 1963.

Mr. Schneider was in the dairy business for 27 years in Waukon. For 16 consecutive years he never missed a day of deliveries.

Survivors include one son, Milton Schneider of Waukon; Mrs. Vincent (Harriette) Tranfaglia, Philippines and Mrs. Harford (Olphil) Marsh of Waterloo. A daughter, Jessie May also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. from the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. William Tjaden officiating. Martin Brothers are in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be Glen Rice, Harvey Stock, William Bieber, Ray Schneider, Claude Shafer, and Robert Wurtzel. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
