Marvin Gene Nebendahl, born July 14, 1961 at Virginia Gay Hospital to Mary Ann (Walton) and Melvin Nebendahl, died unexpectedly Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at his home in Hawkeye. Graveside services will be held Saturday, November 28 at 1 p.m. at Keystone Cemetery in Keystone.

“Marv” received electrical training in the Navy and continued with electrical work in his working career. Most recently, he was employed at AgriStar in Postville as a maintenance supervisor.

He enjoyed working on Farmalls, his N-scale trains, and was an avid hobbyist who liked to find out how things worked and fix them.

Survivors include long-time friend, Yvonne Ellefson, and her sons, David and Dan Ellefson; his brothers, Dennis (Barb) Nebendahl of Waterville, Merlin (Barb) Nebendahl of Cedar Rapids, Robert (Kit) Nebendahl of Shellsburg and Larry Johnson of South Dakota; and his sister, Bev (Mark) Witmer of Vinton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Ann and Melvin Nebendahl; his brother, Ronald; and an infant brother, Terry.
