Louise Reincke

Louise Reincke died Thursday night, Dec. 10, in the Ossian Sr. Hospice at Ossian, Iowa.

Funeral services were held Monday, December 14, 1987, 11 a.m. in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville. Rev. Julius L. Peterson officiated. Schutte Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Postville Cemetery.

Louise Reincke, daughter of John and Matilda (Carlson) Appel, was born Sept. 7, 1893 in Clayton County, Iowa. She attended the Clayton County rural schools near her home.

February 18, 1914 she married Fred J. Reincke. The couple had 6 children. They lived all of their life in the Postville area.

She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and the V. F. W. Auxiliary in Postville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Fred, in 1968, a son, Arno, a granddaughter, Mary Louise Reincke, 3 brothers, John, William and Henry and 2 sisters, Hannah Banning and Freida Klinkenberg.

Survivors include 2 sons, Delbert, Evansdale, IA and Fredrick, Albuquerque, New Mexico, 3 daughters, Mrs. Melbert (Laverna) Schopp, Castalia, Mrs. Wilbur (Mardella) Reckward, Postville, Mrs. Marlin (Arlene) Lundt, Decorah; 16 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and 2 brothers, Otto Appel, Postville and Herman Appel, McGregor.

Casket bearers were Jeffrey Reincke, Jason Reincke, Roger Reincke, Rick Burger, Kevin Lundt, and Milo Meyer.
