Alma O. Kolsrud, 94, of Waukon, died December 28, 1990 at the Good Samaritan Center, Waukon.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 26, 1:30 p.m. at Old East Paint Creek Lutheran Church with Rev. Gary Bachman officiating. Interment was in Old East Paint Creek Cemetery. Martin's Funeral Home, Waukon, was in charge of arrangements.
Alma Ovidia Kolsrud, daughter of Gilbert and Hannah Hanson Smedsrud, was born November 12, 1896 on the farm of her parents in Jefferson Township, Allamakee County.
She was baptized and confirmed at Old West Paint Creek Lutheran Church and received her education through the 8th grade in the rural 'Smeby School'.
On October 14, 1915 she married Melvin Kolsrud at Old West Paint Creek Lutheran Church. Rev. C. J. Gronlid officiated.
She was a lifetime area resident. In 1961 she moved to Waukon and had spent the last 9 years in the Good Samaritan Center, Waukon.
She was a member of Old East Paint Creek Lutheran Church and was a member of the Hannah Circle there.
She was preceded in death by her husband Melvin, Aug. 2, 1953; 3 children, Harriet Sanderson, Lorraine Kolsrud and Merlin Kolsrud; also 2 grandsons, Wayne and Leland Kolsrud; 1 sister, Mabel Keatley and 3 brothers, Carl Smedsrud, Alfred Smedsrud and Alvin Smedsrud.
Surviving are: a son, Howard Kolsrud, Postville; 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Helen Anderson, Jessie Geuder and Mrs. Ray (Beulah) Odegard, all of Waukon and Melvin Smedsrud of Waterville.
Pallbearers: Gordon Gilbertson, Everett Anderson, Robert Hagen, Melbourne Evanson, Oliver Emerson and Donald Bakke.
