Died at Janesville, Mrs. Joseph Bennett, 70, Friday at her home. Nee Edna Edith Sutter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Bunyan Sutter, she was born in Lincoln (sic Linton) township, Allamakee co. Iowa. She was formerly a teacher and later a milliner at Floyd, Ia. She was married at Charles City Jan. 2, 1902, to Joseph Bennett, who for many years operated a drug store at Floyd. Later the couple came to Janesville where Mr. Bennett died Sept. 18, 1930. She was a member of the Presbyterian church and later of the Methodist church. President of the W.F.C.S., and past matron of the Order of the Eastern Star. She leaves three foster daughters, Mrs. Helen Aungst, Waterloo; Mrs. Eileen Melrose, Independence; Mrs. Arleen Briner, Janesville; two stepsons, Harry Bennett, Cedar Rapids; Gardner Bennett, Istanbul, Turkey, and a stepdaughter, Mrs. R.P. Ink, Mt. Vernon; three sisters, Mrs. Clara Sutter, Monona; Mrs. Viola Jones, Harpers Ferry, and Mrs. Nettie Schluter, Monona. The funeral is at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Methodist church, with burial in Oakland cemetery.
