Last Rites for Mrs. Smedsrud
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 2 at 1:30 p.m. in St.John's Lutheran Church in Waukon for Mrs. Carl (Pearl) Smedsrud, 76, of Waukon, who died Saturday, March 30 at the Good Samaritan Center in Waukon.
The Rev. Marlyn Hansing will officiate and interment will be in the Old West Paint Creek Church Cemetery. Arne Ebner, Ronald Ebner, Jonathan Ebner, Donn Smedsrud, Roger Schlitter and Joel Ebner will be pallbearers. Martin funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
Pearl Huffman was born Aug 22, 1897 in Rossville and was a daughter of William and Anna Wilson Huffman. April 20, 1920 she married Carl Smedsrud in Waukon. He preceded her in death.
Survivors are two sons, the Rev. Gordon Smedsrud of Decorah and Arden Smedsrud of Waukon, and two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Clarice) Ebner of Preston, Minn., and Mrs. Ray (Alice) Spinner of Postville. Eleven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a brother William Huffman of Waukon also survive. Five sisters, Hazel, Ethel, Gladys, Marie, and Helen, preceded her in death.Waukon Republican-Standard
